Seiya's Face

8 years ago, for the first time my article was published in this hobby magazine, and actually this time, many of you for the first time, I believe, have read my article. To those who still remember me, I should say: Long time no see.

For the past two years, I was designated to be a prototype designer for Saint Cloth Myth, debutting with Final Bronze Pegasus Seiya's body and head (cloth parts and hands parts were made in other place). Now, thanks to the devoting of other designers around me, we will cover one third of Myth items, even including some cloth parts of them.

We dedicate ourselves into how to vividly realize each character's pose with so-called Cloth Up toys. We are aiming at representing their symbolic images in TV anime, as well as enriching their poses by improving body's flexibility. Furthermore, as movable figure, face parts must be standardized, now it's really becoming a dilemma to us.

I have submitted a proposal of various faces, but for those items released, we still need to discuss on the pattern in which we should put them into the market. Anyway, sampling for these parts has begun. From this time, I will continuously introduce you some of our ideas and inspirations when developing. Let's begin with Seiya's head.

In the beginning, I just focus on how to revise the face and make it looks like Seiya is shouting "Pegasus Ryuseiken", then take into account the coordination with various poses, I start to add more revisions, for instance, the hair's curl direction was changed oppositely. That's the full scrath, but I can assure you it's far from the final version, coz we will absolutely keep revising and revsing by camparing it with the original one, or referring to recent TV anime.

We also made some hands parts such as powerful fist to coordinate with the face. How do you guys feel about it? Does them look match and make it possible to realize their symbolic poses?

The parts for other items are also in the process of sampling, I will possibly reveal them in the coming days, let's wait and see.
